vpn- cant get past router

trying to vpn to one of my servers across town i cant get past the router the server has a 10.1.xx.xx. address assigned from the router how can i vpn through the router address to the server.or do i just assign the server the same address as the router?

How to do it depends on what type of router you have. You need to forward port 1723 traffic to the ip of your VPN server. Do not give your Router and your server the same IP.. Bad Mojo. Matt Wray
