VPN - Broadband - Private network using Laptop as a Gateway

I just got a special request from one of my customer.
They have an office which IT haven't complete their Network yet.
They are asking if we can use a laptop which will be VPN to their Network and sharing this connection on a Switch so that a few devices can use this connection.

Private Network ---- Internet cloud --- Laptop using VPN e/w 2 Ethernet ports --- Switch --- devices...

This way they can limit the need to provide access to users widely. They need to be in that room.

is this only a temporary solution or will this need to be something more permanent??

It is a temporary Solution...
Maybe a few days or weeks, but not more than a month.
