VPN between tow linux machines

i have one live ip on linux. i want to connect to another linux machine having also public ip through VPN. so please don't give me the urls for refering. tell me how to connect these two machine.


 
Telling you how would require a lot more space than we have here. I use FreeSWan, which is included in SuSE 8+ and easily installed via RPM in RedHat 8 (maybe included in 9).

It's an IPSEC vpn product which involves generating keys, exchanging public keys, and setting up the configuration files. It's not difficult, and I don't think there's any danger of breaking anything if a mistake is made.

I also know of an SSL-based vpn called CIPE, and you can use PPTP. I don't have much experience with these, though.
