I have setup a VPN server for my office. I can connect to the server, but I cannot view the server shared folders without typing "net use ...".
I have been directed to use WINS, but after looking into it I'm totally confused. What can WINS do for me? I don't need to browse the entire internal network over VPN. I just want employees to have access to the shared folders I create on the VPN server.
I installed WINS, but I'm confused about how to configure it, and even if I configure it I don't know what the results would be. Will employees that login to the VPN server be able to browse through My Network Places if the WINS server is setup? Does anything extra need to be added to their computers?
Sorry about the general post, but I'm really confused now. I'm on the verge of uninstalling WINS and just going with connection scripting to create mapped drives.
