I have a question.
I have set up a VPN on a WIN2k Advanced Server (cable modem and a Linksys BEFR41 router. Firmware revision 1.43). Ran the Client Connection Manager and all seems to work well. It did have a problem with installing Connection Manager 1.2 (but with WIN2k and XP this isnt needed anyway). I got the VPN to connect THRU a dial up to AOL. Works great! no problems at all. BUT when I try to hook up my cable modem at home (same router, same firmware revision) it will hook up great but will ONLY map the drives on the VPN server. I've called Linksys a few times and they arent a lot of help on the matter. I know I've got to be close to it. What else could I try. Linksys had me open these ports up on the server side router.
500,47,1723 and had me check Protocol TCP and UDP and also to put the VPN server Ip in it as well, checking the enable tab. They said I needed to do this on the client side router as well. Is this the case? Thanks for all your help! Its a real hair puller!
