I have Ipecs Communicator extension registerd on a MFImM 300 5.6 system. If you try to use the Ipecs comm outside the LAN I.e from Gsm or external wifi via VPN on your device the mobile device will not register if teh MFIM is port forwarded for SIP registration . If you remove the Port forwarding or Nat the device can register but they will be no SIP Line registration .

How can the two work together can NAT and VPN work together to access the MFIM resourecs

Thanks in advance

When you are outside of the local wifi, the IPECs communicator needs to point to the external IP address of your router. So long as you have UDP 5060 pointed to your MFIM it should work.

When we are outside the local Wifi, we are using real connect VPN which makes it a local IP as well, so my assumption was that I will point to the Local IP when I am in a VPN and to the Public IP when I am not on a VPN.
