I don't really understand that with VPN. It says that if I connect to a VPN, my ip will change. But when I make a ip-lookup on my computer when I'm connected to VPN, I still get the IP from my ISP. If I'm connected to a VPN, my ISP can't see what I'm doing or what?

I read about this for several years ago but I don't remember so much :/

Depending on your VPN tunnel being supplied you may get a local IP from the network your connecting to (192.168.X.X). As for what your ISP can see, nothing really unless your download huge files.

If it is a GRE tunnel with no encryption, the ISP can most certainly play man-in-the-middle...

With an IPSEC tunnel, they cannot. Your modem will have the public IP---it needs it.
