I am stumped I have thrown everything at this machine I can think of so if anyone else has an idea let me know. I have a user who has a personal laptop that she uses to remote to our office and into a machine here. The laptop she uses was able to dial the VPN without a problem up until about 3 wks ago. Since then she was only able to connect to our VPN through a hardline, if she used wireless it would not connect. So i assumed it was something with her wireless config, but that checks out ok. I then ran a norton AV scan on it to see if there were virus, spyware, etc.. it found nothing. So i ran and Trendmicro Houscall scan of the net and it picked up so RAS_Dialer, and some dangerous cookies. Those were removed now it won't connect at all. When I try to dial the vpn and run "Netstat" at the same time it is communcating with the other side and it is showing established but it will not complete the connection to the other server. I have tested this both inside my network and outside and even tried to dial to another network that I manage. Thinking that the problem may be at the server, but this did not resolve this issue. It is returning errors 800 and error 651. Both of which basically mean the same thing. I know that it has norton 2006 installed on it and the Norton shows some sort of firewall, but i can't seem to find it to allow a passthrough on PPTP and GRE. I have run out of ideas, if anyone has a suggestion let me know.

Thanks in advance
Matt

I dont have the time to research your errors numbers, but I suspect you are experiencing a prob with the laptop software firewall. Temp disable the 3rd party firewall (including windows firewall) and you will likely be able to establish connection.. once uyou are online & connected re-enable the firewall..
