Ok I've managed to figure out how to get the VPN to work on the pix if connected to dsl and cable but what I can't figure out on how to get it to work behind a router.
The router is a Netvanta by Adtran connected to a t1. There is no NAT on the router. The outside address is an internet IP while the inside port is providing DHCP. The pix receives the DHCP IP from the router and everyone can browse the net. My question now how do I get the outside IP to be forwarded to the PIX? Will I need a static IP address on the outside port of the PIX or will the DHCP be ok? Will I need two different external IP addresses? one for the router and the other for the pix.
Thanks

too dumb of a question?? sorry im a little new on this. help

I am suspecting the outside interface on the PIX has a private IP address. If that is the case...
You need a static IP address on the PIX and a dedicated public IP address available, so you can statically NAT this public IP address on the router to the PIX. If you are blocking traffic on the router you would need to open udp port 500 and ip protocol 50.

So basically create a static private IP address on the pix? Use the public address on the router and nat it to the pix?
