MIS
Cable internet with Vonage V-Portal with static IP BEHIND Linksys WRT54G router. That's the way I want it as opposed to the V-Portal being attached directly to the cable modem.
When I opened up the ports according to this tech document, I would get dropped calls after talking for a few minutes.
After setting the static IP address of the V-portal as the DMZ host, things work fine now.
What did I miss in opening up/forwarding those ports???? I opened up inbound ports RTP (Voice) Traffic: Ports 10000-20000 UDP.
I did nothing in terms of outbound because outbound should be open on any port if it's initiated by a device behind the firewall - RIGHT????? I have plenty of upload/download bandwidth, so it's not an issue of QOS.
