Volume/Sound 2

We recently moved and when we set up the computer again we are not getting any sound. I have checked in Control Panel and all the settings are okay (nothing muted). What could be causing this? We have an HP Pavilion F70 monitor with an HP Pavilion 780n.

Make sure you plugged the speakers in the correct jack on the sound card and, if they are powered speakers, make sure the power plug is seated good. "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing....."

I have been caught before this with the volume control on the speakers being inadvertently turned right down All things are possible except skiing through a revolving door.

is it alrigh to plug in your sound card output to your cd input on your amp? Will this hurt anything?
