Just to make sure

Suppose I have a disk of 8Gb in my NT4 server, and I want to increase the size of the disk
Can I add a disk of 18Gb to the server, create an extended volume set from those 2 disks (to get one logical disk of 26 Gb) without losing the files on the first disk ?

Thanks

Hi

You can do that , provided your r using NTFS and also do
check the disks for errors and ensure it is clean before doing so. U can expand volume sets this way , but allways do take a backup of the data on the old disk and an ERD before doing so , all the best !

Ok, Thanks Peter Van Eeckhoutte

You can only do this if the original disk is not a boot or system disk.
