How do you assign a specific pool to a volume. My device is an autochanger jukebox.
I created a new pool orarchive, now I want to change or mount a volume with this pool, how do I do it?

Please help. thanx in advance.

Are you running NW for UNIX or NT? For now I will assume NT reply if you need the UNIX version. All of the NW operator procedures should be in your administrators guide for Legato, you can get a new copy from legato web site if you need it.

When you created the pool you defined the pooltype/label template/group/devices that this pool will use. So you should now be able to go to your autochanger/device resource...from the configuration tab...right-click your autochanger name and choose operations.... click label... and label a tape and simply select your pool name by radio button or drop down box and the tape will automatically be labeled for use with the pool you created.

If you have multiple tape drives make sure from the pool resource that all drives are checked for use with that pool otherwise you will get errors when you try to label on certain drives.

Lastly, from the pool resource you created go to the preferences tab and select recycle media from other pools if you want to be able to use tapes from a different pool to be recycled and used with your new pool. Be careful with this option as you could overwrite a tape from another pool that you wanted to keep.
