I have a 2002 IP phone and when I am speaking to someone, I can hear them fine...but they can not hear me well -- I am told the volume is real low -- Is there anyway to increase the transmit (or mic) volume??

Thanks

Are you going out on analog lines (POTS) by chance?

yep...but it is also hard to hear within the office when calling other extensions (digital ones..not IP ones)

This is what a tech once told me:

"BCM with analog trunks has a problem with the off net calling from IP handsets. There is inherent signal loss that occurs with the longer distances for the analog trunk circuits.

The current release of code for the BCM's (3.X) the analog signal parameters are not configurable. They are a fixed value and with the weaker signal strength, the issue of low call volume is a recognized problem. The newer pending release of code (4.X) will have a configuration option to adjust the analog signal strength for the lower quality lines."

I only had this issue with my i2050 phones and not my i200x phones. We got around it by replacing all our USB headsets with nortel OEM amplifiers.
