Ok here is what I am trying to do. As everyone knows the way Networker works is if you are backing up a job it will look for recyclable media, if that isn't available then it will look to append to other media that may have more available space to backup to. We have certain systems that do incrementals during the week and fulls on the weekend and other systems that are the complete opposite. What we would like to do is have our full jobs not use the same tapes as our incremental jobs. If we have a jukebox full of partially written to tapes, as well as recyclable tapes then I would prefer the full NOT append to the partially written incremental tape. I understand that if thats all that is available in the jukebox then that is what it will do. Is there a way to tell it not to append to tapes that were used for incrementals and prompt if it needs recyclable media for full backups? Is there some sort of tape pool or anything like that we can create?? We are currently using Networker 6.11 for Unix. We have 2 autochanger jukeboxes that we basically just fill up at the beginning of the week for backups and let it go. If there is better solution I would love to know it. Any insight/help, etc.. would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

The quickest thing to do is implement pools. One for FUlls and one for Incrementals, by doing this they will never be on the same tapes.
