Volume levels resetting on TDL sets

I have a prob with a magix 2.1 resetting the volume on TDL sets. Several times a day the users need to re-adjust volume levels on their sets. I swapped the 412 cir pk and that didn't fix it. The magix is not rebooting. It has been in for a year but prob just started a few weeks ago.

Any ideas???

What do you mean the Magix is not rebooting? Is this problem with the sets system-wide? Do you have multiple 412TDL packs or any 024 TDL packs? Try to isolate the trouble if so. Try swapping sets that are having trouble with those that are not. See if the trouble follows the set or the port.

The magix not rebooting eliminates the possiblity that factory defaults are being restored to the volume levels. It WILL reboot if I want it to.
The problem is system wide. As more info is gathered in it is probably related to another issue that active calls are frequently placed on hold. This will happen to many people at once. Logically the link between the set and the C/U has issues ... or the processor and or software has issues.
The sets range from 12 button TDL to 24 button TDL sets.
They have 2 412 TDL packs, an 016, and a 100DCD (respectively).
If the pipe was having problems that would show as a far end disconnect rather than placing the active calls on hold.
If the switch was rebooting or loosing power that would explain the volume level problem but not the calls being placed on hold.

When the calls are being placed on hold, what does it say on the display on the phone, if it has one....as well, do you see anything happening on the DSS. Any perment or transient errors in the error log? You could try doing a Board controller test on the boards and an int loopback to see what happens. Just some basic advise.

Have you tried a simple power down/power up? I hate it when I get this advice, but sometimes it does resolve these quirky issues.

Thanks for any and all input. This forum has great people. You are right, often it is the basic stuff that gets over looked.
No errors on anything and all tests are ok (not that I put much stock in the internal tests ;-). I have rebooted several times to swap various parts. I personally did see the TDL console black-out once for about 1 second but the DSS field stayed lit.
This is a tricky one because only 3 or 4 people have desk jobs (and they are the only ones reporting the problem). The rest of the staff are outside sales and use their phones a couple times a week.
Luckily the volume levels returning to factory defaults are allowing me to track which sets are having the problem.
I found out yesterday that not all phones on slot 1 are resetting. SooOoo I traced out some jumpers and noticed that 5 jumpers goto the orange binder of a 50 pr. This cable is about 75 - 100 feet in length. From there it shotguns out on jk. I have never seen an entire binder suffer all at once but stranger things have happened. The cable seems to have been run without slack loops and is tied down awfully tight. Maybe the building contraction and expanding is pinching it somewhere.
Today I will drop a temp 4 pr to 1 station and see if that cures it.
If not, then I still need your help. Luckily I have a lab switch so I could swap out the processor and carrier if need be. I already swap'd the 412TDL, pwr sup & surge supressor.
