Volume is dirty after imaging

zen 4.01ir6 on NW6.5sp4b. Is it normal for checkdisk to claim the volume is dirty on first boot after an image is laid on? Disk had nothing on it to start with.

Freaking checkdisk is taking longer to run than the image/restore jobs combined take...

I have seen that happen before when I don't shut down the PC right first before imaging, but no it shouldn't normally happen.
