Hey,

Installing new IBM Blade H Chassis. Chassis has 2 2900 W power supplies. Documentation sez these are N+1 redundant. Can I assume that means that even while both power supplies are active, I will never exceed a need for more than 2900W input, and can base my capacity for a UPS purchase (to attache to one power cord) on that??

thanx in advance,
steve c.

If the PSU's are redundant it means that either one can carry the full load of both in the case of a power failure, both PSU's will share the load in normal operation. If you are connecting one cord from each PSU to a different UPS then you will need to size both UPS's to be capable of supporting the full load.
