My Problem...
I have at home a 2MB broadband connection, connected into a switch(Not router), with my laptop and PC connected into this sharing my internet connection.
At work we have a small LAN with approx 7 pc peer to peer PC's (No dedicated server). We have our own internal IP addressing scheme. Our connection to the internet is via 512Kb ADSL connection, without a dedicated IP address.
We also have a IPOffice 403. We also have a 4600 IP phone.
I would like to use either the 4600 phone or a soft phone at home connected into my switch and be able to dial a extension in work or work to dial my extension and be able to connect across the internet.
First is it possible.
Do I have the correct kit, if I don't what else do I need.
How do I do it.
I have lots of PDF's and documents related to this, but still I no joy.
Any help would be great.

Yes I have a VCM 5 card.

It is possible

You will need a VCM in the IP Office

If you do not have a fixed IP address you may have problems when the IP Address at either end changes.

The 46XX will need to be configured correctly to speak to the IPO (correct setup of call server & gateway etc.)

You will need to make sure that data trafic from the 46XX is correctly routed to the IP Office.

VPN tunneling would probably be the easiest way to acheave the above requirements.

You will have no QOS support so speach quality may be variable.

... and don't forget Mr Firewall may will be in the way (on the ADSL routers).

VPN is the only way to get it working for any form of reliability - but, as has been said, quality of service (QoS) can not be guarenteed across the internet - so the voice calls may well 'chop'.
