I know that Nortel now has a voip gateway for ics systems. Does it use station ports or trunk ports and how. I hear two stories - Nortel says station ports and my supplier says trunk ports. I have also heard that they have a voip card that goes in the mics and you are suppose to use the Nortel IP phones. The reason that I am really researching this is because I want to use voip to my new home office and I don't want a MCK unit. Can you clear things up for me? Thanks

See for details.

There is an external box that connects to ICS trunk ports. Only IP trunking is possible on the Norstar. If you want to use IP sets for applications such as your home office, you'll want to take a look at the BCM.

If you already have a Norstar in place, you can swap it out for a BCM and keep your phone sets.

michael is right ..the voip gateways itnerfaces to the ls/ds or clid card in hte norstar ... and end is the Ethernet interface ...
