I recently installed an IP Office 406 v1.3(34) on one site, Definity on another, and IP phones on the third site. The links were controlled by Cisco routers.

Just though I share this pain;

All was working fine, until after two weeks in service, the weekend before going live, I experienced the following two problems.
1. The Definity was unable to ping the IP Office. Hence calls to and from the IP Office were down. Whereas other devices on all networks were able to the IP Office. There was no firewall nor access list blocking the IP traffic. This was resolved by changing the IP Address of the IP Office.
2. The 406 decided NOT to boot up after a power down. There was no response on the DTE port. I know there's power going to the system as I had green lights on all the LEDs.

Any comments?
If at all possible, I would like to see a safe power down process. And the ability to ping directly from the IP Office.

If you have read the other threads, I still love the IP Office.

Cheers

Are you getting the full integration, Name and Number Display? Are you using and Intuity for Centralized Voicemail?

I too would like to see a ping, traceroute, arp, tools available on the IP Office as well, it would make troubleshooting much easier. Thank you,
Frank Mirecki

green lights on all the LEDs...

That happens when the 406 has no firmware loaded. Take the unit off the network, and hook up to a computer running Manager. Open the TFTP log and reset the 406. See if there is any requests and note the IP address. If there is a request make sure the PC has a valid IP address and the latest firmware for the 406in the Manager directory.

Frank: The VoIP between the two systems works like a treat. And yes the users names are passed to each other. I don't see why the voicemail would interfer a simple ping command nor prevents it from powering up. But no I'm not using Intuity.

redphone: Many thanks, I havn't try the TFTP logs. But shouldn't I at least get a response on the DTE port? Normally when I make a unit goto factory default (AT-X2, and AT-X3) or to start a fresh (AT-X) there's always something on the DTE port?

I look forward to any comments
