Customer is adding some staff in a remote building with a vpn. System is BCM 50 r6. Can I adjust the voip codecs and bandwidth consumed for ip phones? Planning to use 1120e Any tips to consider in advance. VPN will be over 1 gbps cable service and be used for LAN access to main office.

The codecs can be adjusted, but the main thing is to have the IP phones split onto a VLAN to ensure that you get some dedicated priorty data to them without any conjestion.

Hello Brian

The router will need configuring the allow the IP phones to run on a different IP address range and this can also be with a different subnet range.
