VOIP via Proxy Server

I'm trying to install Voipbuster or Voipstunt on a PC connected to ADSL via a proxy server but both fail to connect so I can't even register a username. The same PC runs Skype with no problems (Skype found the proxy automagically - I guess from the IE settings). Any thoughts?
