You should be able to use SIP or H323 if you just want to pass digits, if you want voicemail support that is going to be more unlikely to work. I have networked a CS1000 with a Cisco Call Manager using a Qsig T1 and other "creative" methods and it works OK.
Nortel's official stance on BCM VoIP trunks is they aren't supported for connecting to anything other than another BCM, CS1000, or 2100. I think its because the "standards" aren't quiet so standard across different vendors. I have tried connecting to an Avaya Communications Manager and never could make the trunks work.
