Im looking into a VOIP solution for a company and we plan to make all calls over a leased line. I'm thinking of installing an IP 406 with the highest VCM Card for this unit and DS 30 along with 38DS Phones

I not sure if this is a viable solution ie pure voip calls over the internet anyone done this rather than a isdn 30 circuit

are you talk'in about at least 2 sites with the same hardware setup here? or you're not voip'ing anywhere though......

This is Voip over a leased line to anywhere instead of bt isdn 30 line over the internet customer has some realistic requirement in the future live 6-8 months from now ish

Is this leased line going to be a 'SIP'-trunk? If so you have to wait until version 3.1 I believe?

not sure found a company that offer this service and i will be speaking to them next week but the leased line will have to be supplied by them.

knIPOog,

Do you know what are new features in upcoming release v3.1, beside SIP trunk?

Will it be released late '05 or in '06?

TIA

I've got the road map to version 3.2 late 2006. but it's in the office, and from today I'm on leave for 2 weeks

i had a meeting with a company that have a voip switch made by Nortel and this hosts the VOIP service for there clients the Voip quality is 100% i was very supprised and you can implement this with an IP Office using a SDSL line or a Leased Line Via the WAN port and a Cisco router or via any Trunk Card.

There are two solutions

Router via the WAN Port

Gatway and Router i guess via the Trunk Cards

SIP will be supported via there nortel switch after september etc and we still have to await the avaya release.

Has anyone tried the Live Communication Server feature in Phone Manager and does it work yet.

The only issue is your leased line or SDSL has to be with this company for VOIP also the Programing of the phone system from the network point of view

knIPOog,

Could send roadmap to my email when you're back? tnx...

SIP-trunking is planned for 3.2 (Q4 2006) and not 3.1 as I mentioned before.
