I am configuring VOIP on two 2600's I am trying to connect two PBX's together. I have an issue with e the Extension numbers of the two PBX's One range is 2000 and the other is 200. Can i use both or will i have to have a a prefix before dialing to stop confusion.
For instance if i dial 200 for the PBX that is expecting 2000 numbers i will have a problem,

Can i get past this isssue as i do not really want to use a prefix nor change the two PBX's extension numbering.

Thanx in advance

With all the E&M's I worked on to a pbx and or a key system the extension numbers were always set up differnt.

There would have to be a prefix added to these ranges, otherwise the router/PBX's will be waiting for a 4th number on the 200 range. The best, and easiest way (depending on the PBX), probably, to do this (but I am sure if I'm wrong, someone will correct me) is to add site codes (prefix). On some PBX's this is just a single entry on the database that ties that code to that switch. What it does mean though, is that users will need to use the site code. Another alternative is to issue a site code or the switch with 200 range, again a single entry for you, which clearly distinguishes it from the other switch, say 3 - 32xx.

The other ways involve extra expense of setting up 2 links, one for each switch, and then programming the routers.

Hope that helps a little.
