VOIP phones out of a mini switch

Does anyone know or has anyone tried to put a Avaya 4610 phone on a 4 or 6 port mini switch (net gear or Cisco). The platform is G450 S8300 software 6.2.
Any help would be appreciated!

No reason it shouldn't work.

If this switch is unmanaged and doesn't support proper VLAN seperation and QoS then I wouldn't recommend it.

I didn't think about the V-LAN separation, I will have to check the switch to see if the switch will do that. Thank you!
