VoIP phone's name and extension display in Corporate Directory

Hello,
I started a thread on 7/3 questioning how to update firmware on VoIP i2002 sets @ different locations.
I received an answer that IP phones software upgrade is done via signalling server.
I'm not sure how to start or finish this process. Any additional info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
