Hi everone,

I'm using Phone Manager 3.0.16. IPO 412 Version 3.0.56.

I'm trying to get VoIP working, but here's the problem:

I'm connecting to the IPO using Phone Manager over a Cisco VPN client, so far so good.

I can select the VoIP extension and make & recieve calls. But, these calls only seem to last for about 26 seconds before I get this error message ' iCalritySvr.exe - Application error' then it goes on to say that the memory couldn't be read. This is a windows error message.

I've tried everything to fix this, but to avail...!! Help?

You should try to upgrade, some Windows Errors are supposed to be fixed in 3.2 17.

Just wait a few more days for the september maintenance release. The improvements for pc softphone are really good. We have tested 3.2.28 now for 4 weeks and it's been really good. It's hasn't crashed once; good call qualit and all functions like park, hold, conference transfer and speed dials fianly work as expected.

Thanks for the advise.

Does that mean though, that I need to upgrade the sotfware on the IPO too, or can I just use version 3.2.17 of Phone Manager to resolve this?

I'm just dubious to upgrade the whole IPO to this version as I don't want to introduce more bugs than I have already!

What do you guys think? Use a more recent version Phone Manager only, or upgrade the IPO 412 too?

Thanks

Upgrade the IPO and all the associated apps to the same build. As already stated, the maintenance release is due and will address issues from the first release of 3.2

Cheers

The Maintenance release is now scheduled for GA on october 13th.

Yes, 3.2.50 is much better then 3.0.56 and you must upgrade all of your apps.

September release in october.

Couldn't Avaya be more like car manufactures when you get the 2007 model in the summer of 2006 :)

I think upgrading won't help.
The problem is more likely in the network connection.
If a VoIP call is in progress then the gatekeeper sends " H323 keepalive" packets to the IP Phones and the IP Phone does the same towards the gatekeeper.
This is needed if the call is a full VoIP call with "enabled mediapath" so the gatekeeper can "keep" the "gate ( IPport )" reserved for this conversation.
If in either way these "H323 keepalive" packets are blocked then the call will be cut-off without notice.
You can check with sysmonitor and select all of H.323 as a filter, then you can see if the keep alive packets are the problem.
If not : i cannot answer without a proper trace but even then i don't think upgrading will solve your problem.

It will help: our customers who suffered from all kind of ?:$%#@ (iclarity crashing, stuttering, one way speach etc etc) are very happy with this maintenance release. Since we have upgraded them none of the previous errors have occured. This client has a wide range of hardware and even the oldest pc's are now running without a problem.

One of the biggest updates is that the iclarity process is now installed with windows XP process priority = high.

Try it; you will like it (when it comes GA ofcourse)

Thanks for all the advice.

What I've done is tested out just version 3.2.12 Phone Manager.

I've put this on a laptop and VPN'd into my network. I've pointed PM to use a VoIP extension I created and also set IPro in the settings of the VoIP extesion.

So far so good. It seemed to fix the rubbishy iClaritySvr error.

If I get brave, I'll try to talk the boss into letting me upgrade the whole IPO to 3.2 too.

thanks again everyone!
