Does the BCM 400 4.0 has a limit on how many VoIP calls can be made at one time, and do i have control over it?
I have a customer with over 60 IP sets that think if every one picked up the handset at the same time they will shut down the network. Thanks.

There is a limitation, but that limitation is based upon system resources.
If they are licensed and online, they can get dialtone.
If they all go off hook at the same time, the BCM will handle it, the question will be their network.
This will depend on how much bandwidth is available and what codec the IP sets are using?

It is possible that that the BCM can't handle it. It depends on your media resources. Are you using a 2/6 or 3/5 split? How many voicemail and call center ports are in use? Any IP trunks? The network can also be a limitation as supportdude says.

You can also use the BCM Monitor to see the status and how many ressources are used.... maybe the customer want to have a look at it ;O)

cheers,

The BCM is non blocking.
You will get system dial tone from every set attached as long as you are within the resource limits.
It's been my experience that the BCM will not even allow you to put another IP set on the system if you don't have the hardware resources to allow it.

I am using 3/5 split with 68 mailboxes and no callcenter. Thank you all for your help.
