I have 2 1750's with FXO cards, 512k PtoP, Nortel PBX location A, Lucent at location B.

Can I connect these two locations with FXO cards only? Or do I need to go FXS to FXO from A to B and FXS to FXO from B to A ?

I have worked with adtran tsu 600's before, and have had to use
fxo to fxs, this should be the same for what you're working with.
i have always been told fxo=office side (host) and fxs=station side (remote).

I worked with ACT 9350 and CISCO 2610 Router and in these two cases I made FXS-FXO links. You need these two kinds of interfaces for an extended-phone configuration (I suppose you want to do that configuration).
You also can make a FXS-FXS link but it is another story.

algator is correct you will need to have a fxo and a fxs connection. You will also need to set one up for clocking an the other for network. Sometimes its better to seperate
the voice and data with an Adtran. #-) Good Luck !!

I was told I could do this with FXO cards by Cisco support. But they did not tell me how.

PBX A |-fxo---| ____T1____--> |--fxo--| PBX B - Call to B from A
PBX A |-fxo---| <-- ____T1____ |--fxo--| PBX B - Call from B to A

Will this work? If so can anyone send me a sample config. Thanks.

I am also wondering if it could work without FXS. Just FXO to FXO to connect two PBX’s. If someone knows if it is possible please let me know. Thanks.

I was also told by Cisco that I could

PBX -> FXO -> 2600 -> T1 <- 2600 <- FXO <- PBX

Any input appreciated
