I'm not sure what the "brand" of phone is but what is the Maximum distance you can go from a switch to the VOIP phone via copper i believe it 100 meters/300 feet? I know you can "Fudge a little" but how much is a little as I suspect this will be approximately 1200 feet

fiber

4 times the limit isnt "fudging" it just wont work

Or ethernet extenders such as Patton. They provide 16meg over plain copper.

Go fiber or use a real phone, they don't have that kind of limit!

thats what I suspected, I will try and go through the "motions" for the sake of argument, but since I know they have Fiber in both locations a "fiber to ethernet" transciever might be the "ticket"

Assuming you have at least CAT5 (hoping you wouldnt consider VOIP if you didnt have such), you dont need a special extender. You actually want to get a pair of 100BFX to 100BTX Media conveter (not a transceiver...if you ask for such, you will get either an MII to Rj45 100BTX, or an AUI to Rj45 10BT - niether of which you want) for each end.

I hope this helps.

fiber to ethernet" transciever - both copper and fiber carry ethernet, you just need a media converter at each end.

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

VoIP phone is plugged with RJ45 cable to a ethernet switch. PBX is also plugged to an Ethernet switch.
VoIP phone can be functional until two Ethernet switches can talk to each other with IP packets. Two Ethernet switches can talk to each other from each point of the globe if the subnets they belong to are routed in internet.
That is the advantage of an VoIP phone against a wired analog/digital phone
