911 ISSUE REMOTE LOCATION We are setting up a remote office using a Yipes data connection between building 2 1/2 miles apart. We have a Nortel phone system which we will be installing IP phones connecting to the network in the main building. Can anyone tell me how we can handle 911 calls from the remote location that will need to be routed out of the main building which will not have the correct address attached.

You may get a better response posting this in the Nortel forum or VoIP forum on this site.

However, depending on how your Nortel is attached to the PSTN, you may be able to send a Calling Party ID (over PRI) that indicates a number in the remote office. Or you may be able to reroute VoIP 911 calls from the remote building to an FXS card in your router at the remote building and connect that to a analog line from the PSTN.

I'm not Nortel IP phone literate, so I'm not certain what the commands would be, but both concepts should be possible.
