is there a way to create a cmd button which can show a big X or a void so that user know it's been voided or canceled?

How are ya shy216 . . .

If a record is to be voided/cancelled, [blue]whats wrong with deleting it?[/blue]

. . . no prompts necessary!

oh, because it's going to be used from diff users, they want to keep the record even if the reservation/record is canceled.

shy216 . . .

Then [blue]you need a seperate field in the proper table[/blue] for this.

This will allow you to [blue]query & include/exclude[/blue] those specifically!

sorry... im new to access.. no clue what you're talking about...

The Aceman1 is right, you really do need to read up on the topics mentioned, but a simple answer would be to add a check box to your form/table, labled "Voided." You could then have a query feed a form to show voided records, non-voided records or both.
