How do you void an invoice from a closed period? (aka 2008) When I go into VOID OPEN PAYABLES TRANSACTIONS and select the invoice - a box comes up that indicates you can not enter transactions into a closed period.

HELP!!!

You can change the dates when you are on the Void Open Payables Transactions window. Just click in the date fields. I would recommend changing both the Void Date and the Posting Date. Once you enter dates in an open period, you'll be able to void.

Are you running an Australian system?

You are not allowed to void a transaction once the Business Activity Statement (BAS) report has been printed and lodged with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). When you mark a BAS process run as lodged, you close the tax period to ensure the data cannot be changed.

As voiding means a transaction is no longer valid, and would not show on the BAS any more, you cannot change history.

You must enter a debit or credit note.... or re-lodge your BAS.
