Voicer Mail to Email Gmail 2 Step Verification not working 1

I tried to use the suggested 2 Step Verification thread procedure here to get my Gmail voice mail to Email back online for both VMP and Embedded 9.1.12 but I still only see the monitor showing an attempt then Snoozing until it tries again.

Has anyone been able to get this to work or do you have another suggestion or work around? I do not have an in house email server.

Setting are:
smtp.gmail.com
PORT-587
SERVER REQUIRES AUTH.

a colleague of mine said he did it with an apps passwords you can set up in Gmail
