Voicemail Transfer Not Working

Hello,

I have a problem with transferring a call directly to voice mail. No matter whether I use Feature 986 or a preprogrammed voicemail transfer button, calls cannot be connected to voicemail. The system says that there is no party to connect...

The phone in question has a CAP module connected to it. However, I have another phone system with the same model CAP module connected to it and voicemail transfer works fine. Any ideas what the issue might be here?

You aren't possibly putting the call on hold then dialing the feature code? that was the only way I could convince my tel to give me that response. or watch the intercom/line button and watch what happens to it, does it go to a flashing indicator? JerryReeve

We haven't been putting the people on hold. That was my first response too. I watched the receptionist as she tried to transfer to voicemail. I even was backup on the phones for a couple of hours and I couldn't get it to transfer.

It's weird, but I just haven't been able to fix it. I've been around these systems for a few years, and nothing like this has happened before...

OK While watching the i/c or line buttons on the attendent phone are you seeing the call being put on hold while feature 9 8 6 is trying to make the connection to voice mail, or is your call to be transfered being dropped for some reason? JerryReeve

try a feature 9*1(CHECK FEATURE CODES FOR VOICE MAIL)
or Feature 903(It should tell you your feature code range. Just say okay to it). That will tell you if feature 986 is available.
