We have an IP403 2.0(16) along with Voicemail Pro 2.0(16) and Manager 4.0(16). We have been using the voicemail to email option and it's been working fine. Last week all of a sudden it has stopped working. All the email addresses are entered correctly in the users configuration and I've tried restarting the VoiceMail Pro server and it still is not been working. Anyone have any suggestions or may have seen this problem before?

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

This may be obvious or already done but have you restarted your services for exchange or any kind of mail spam or virus service software? It may not be your VM backbone but your core server.

Had it last week after an Upgrade.

Start the VM Pro Server service with interaction to the desktop then it looks like the VM Lite and you can see VM trying to send a e-mail afte you cliced on "run".
You must select SMTP in the VM Pro client software in preferences and then adjust the settings in the Windows control panel.
On the first tab enter the full e-mail address used by VM pro, in the next you enter the SMTP server settings.
Beware of the password verification option, i had a installation were i first had to enable this with the name and password and after clicking on OK i had to turn this option off in order to get it going.

Hoi Cor,

Yes i did that and found out that with the upgrade it still used the mapi settings and in the program VM-Pro at Mapi i can,t tick the box SMTP

I removed VM-Pro and removed the map C:\Program Files\Avaya\IP Office\Voicemail Pro

Then did a new install of VM-Pro 2.1 (19) and Copied back the maps Greetings and Accounts.

Now it works again.

Jackal - Yes the exchange services have been restarted, all other email going over this particular exchange server work fine, so it's not something on the core server side.

Big70 - This may seem like a stupid question, but how do you start the VM Pro Server service with interaction to the desktop?

"You must select SMTP in the VM Pro client software in preferences and then adjust the settings in the Windows control panel." - There is no option under the VMPro Client software under preferences for the SMTP settings, this is 2.0(16).

I can change the setting you referred to under the control panel part though and have set those up as you suggested.

This is in the properties of your services.
Voicemail Pro Services.

Then in the tab LOG ON, you will see allow services to interact with desktop.

Then restart the Voicmail Pro Service and you wil see wat is the problem.
My problem was it was trying to use Mapi instead of SMTP.

Good Luck Peter

THanks big70,

It turns out the network guys changed the names of the SMTP server without letting the rest of us know about it. I put in the new SMTP server name and everything is working now.

Thanks for all your help!!!
