For some reason when the Mitel (MCD4) forwards voicemail to email the sent time stamp is wrong by a few hours. I've checked the time on the Exchange 2007 server is correct, the time on the Mitel is correct. If I manually relay a message off the Exch 2007 the sent time is correct so I can only assume the Mitel is manipulating the time wrong. Any ideas?

I would look to Time Zone settings somewhere. The MCD4 has a new Time Synchronization form, maybe something there?

If you did not take enough time to get it right the first time...

What makes you think that you have time to fix it?

You have to set up the Networked Voicemail form (even if it is a standalone system)

It has a time zone offset.

Help files search terms - Email Time Zone

paterson - I've already done the system time. As I had stated the Mitel time is right, this is because it can now use an NTP time source so I've set this to a local domain controller.

kwbMitel - I've setup the network vm servers form with no offset now (I noticed the default is +4 hours, which is the exact amount of time the message tag is out)
However the time sent time stamp is still +4 hours. Do I have to reboot the vm service or is it a case of just waiting a little while.

I had to reboot a system the other day, after adding the 'Networked Voicemail' entry, to get the time sorted, eg, it didn't immediately take effect

whether restarting just voicemail, via port 2002 connection:
Step 1: Stop voicemail -> iPVM_Stop ( )

Step 2: Start voicemail -> iPVM_Start ( )

would have worked or not, I didn't try.....

I've used that command before, not for this issue, but I've been warnined about it as VM resources are allocated early on during the reboot process. But doing a restart while live your grabbing whats left, which can cause issues.

Cheers, I'll try that and schedule a reboot anyway.

Rob, you can go ahead and do those commands without worry in your case. You only have to worry about it if you are changing the number of voicemail ports.

this is abit of a stab in the dark but are you using ENT/OPSMAN?
If so theres an option in there under network elements, editor - day light savings.

check this is set to observed.

I havent had exactly the same issue as you but I have had other time related incidents and it was down to this.

I must say I could be talking absolute tripe but it may be worth checking.

Thanks

The Email time stamp is directly related to the Networked VM settings - Nothing else. The time on the 3300 controller does not matter.

When I have set this value in the past the effect was immediate and did not require a reboot.

The offset does not allow for daylight savings as far as I can tell and has to be manually adjusted when DST kicks in.

Commands didn't work even after setting up Network VM Server form. I'll try an reboot and I'll got through the forms again.

Thanks kwbMitel! For me, adding in the Networked VM Server did the trick and did not require a reboot.

Network Element Name: <anything>
Network Element Type: 3300 ICP
Local: <checked>
Time Zone: <my time zone>

I'm running a Mitel ICP 3300 software version 9.0.1.17 .

Anybody else agree that it is time to write a FAQ on this subject?
