2.1.14 VMPro, 2.1.27 403 SCNed to three 2.1.27 403s via WAN3 module and point to point T1s to main site. After 2.1.27 upgrade, the system has become unstable as have the WAN links. The Voicemail is now clipping during greetings and system WAV file playback.

Voicemail server is set to 100 half and is connected directly to the IPO LAN ports. Any other reasons for the clipping?

IP Office Technical Tip

Tip no: 39

IP Office 412: Fast Ethernet Ports are Half Duplex

The Fast Ethernet ports on the IP Office are set to half duplex. Avaya recommends that when the IP Office 412 is plugged into a Fast Ethernet switch, the installer should verify that the switch has negotiated to half duplex. It is the responsibility of the Installer to know how to check for half duplex negotiation on the switch.

Failure to have the switch port negotiate to half duplex can cause poor voice quality in the IP Office VoIP network.

When you say unstable do you mean the speech quality over the WAN3 between the sites is intermittently drops out etc

[cheers]

New Info:

The trouble was proved to the 2.1.10 Phone Manager Pro. When a phone associated with a running PMPro accesses Voicemail, the call is very choppy durring playback. Once the PMPro is either logged off or shut down, the Voicemail call is clear. I am in the process of removing all versions off of the network, then testing one at a time. Has anyone had a similar issue?
