Hey guys, long time lurker, first time poster.

We had a new person start. Deleted and recreated mailbox, identical to ext#. Same settings as everyone else. "Fwd no answer" set to 500 just like everyone else, and yet calls he misses bounce back to Me at reception, instead of going to his voicemail.
When I F980 to try leaving a voicemail myself, it plays the message he recorded, and then hangs up - doesn't let me leave a voicemail.

I'd really rather not give my tech support phone# yet another $50 to fix this stupid issue if I can help it.
Thanks so much for your time guys.

Log back in to change the mailbox in admin (F983) and see if its a SUBSCRIBER mailbox or Info mailbox.
If you are out of licenses for SUBSCRIBER then it defaults to Info when you go to create the mailbox.
See if you can add a test mailbox, if it does not let you choose Subscriber then your out of mailboxes.

You would then need to purchase a new voice mail system or purchase a new key code.

Best you post system model and software version when posting otherwise a guessing game to answer properly.

Ooooh! Interesting! I saw it say info but didn't understand why. OK, so assuming I've used up all the voice mail accounts available to me (if I understand you right), how do I free up old ones? Go through the directory and delete old mailboxes? Then would I be able to recreate my new persons box as Subscriber?

Thanks so much for your prompt reply.

Which voice mail system is it?

I don't know, to be honest. Throw a few terms out there and I'll let you know what sounds familiar?
Sadly I don't have any training, and some very watered down manuals to refer to.

Startalk
Flashtalk

Callpilot

I am guessing you have one of the bolded ones.
Go into F983, once logged in press 9, it will give you a version number, report back to us.

If using F983 then MBOX,DEL,DIR then press NEXT until you a name you can delete then press DEL

Awesome. I'll try this after lunch and report back :) and I'm pretty sure it's call pilot.

WOO! It worked :D. Deleted an old mailbox, deleted my new person's, recreated it, and it gave me the Subscriber option. All the other options came up as they should.
Called Complete Communications to cancel my remote assistance request, so thank you for saving us yet another $50!
Confirmed with them that we have a max of 40 mailboxes allowed at one time.

So, one more question for you, when I F983 to find mailboxes to delete, I can click DIR, and then "OK" is my only option, and then I can scroll through names. But the names it shows, those are Definitely not all the mailboxes active. ... How do I get it to list All mailboxes so I can find ones to delete?

Thanks so much!! :D

Press DIR then OK then when you see a name press NEXT to go through the names.

You should get a tech in to hook it up to your network so you can program via the web browser

You are using a Call Pilot. The best way would be to log in via a network connection and use the browser app. There things in the browser setup that are elegant but very cumbersome from F983. Searching mailboxes is one of them.

Online management is not a bad idea in the future. That is, if we keep this phone system. I just let my boss know about this 40 box limitation. I've deleted what I know off the top of my head, so that puts us at probably 37/40 mailboxes in use.

Now, I was going to say "I really don't think that list shows everyone with active mailboxes", but after some thinking and counting and testing and recounting.. it seems more like we've got a 30 mailbox limit.
If I was at my max this morning (30), deleted 3 and added 1, I've got 28 in use currently. My mailbox list shows 29 names - What is System_manager,M? Is this mailbox familiar to anyone? My guess is perhaps it's set up by my tech support company. But if I'm assuming right, it doesn't count to the mailbox limit. Does this sound about right?

Anyways, do you know if this limit is set by the model of phone, or by some paid voicemail service we may have signed up for in the past?

Again I go back to the browser interface.

You'll see how many mailboxes are created, how many licences you have.

Call Pilot 100 can have up to 40 mailboxes
Call Pilot 150 can have up to 200 mailboxes

System_manager mailbox is the one you log into via the telset. F983, Log: System_manager mailbox + password, it can not be deleted.

System Manager is for the onsite admin to use when/if needed such as remotely changing the main AA greeting or closing the business or broadcast messages etc.
It's credentials is what you are using to log into F983
102 is the mailbox
XXXX is the password for mailbox 102

To change it F981 into 102 and change the password.

You can buy licences to add more mailboxes too. But that would require a tech.
