voicemail question

we've got a partner II 4.1 with 3- 206 cards also 4.1 and a partner mail vs 4.1 (expansion card)- and the vmail is dead. head office sent us 2 units to try however they are the pc type, not card type and are release 1.8 and 3.0 with no manuals. will they work?, can we program either system with the manual from our original mail vs 4.0 manual? thanx

They will work fine, you will need to connect ports from the 206 cards to the ports on the VM unit. Don't use the first extension port on the 206 card if there is also a line going into the first line port. (If the Partner loses power, but the VM doesn't, the CO line will be going directly into the VM port)

Be sure to remove the dead VS mail extension ports from hunt group 7 when you put the new extension ports into hunt group 7.

Programming is _similar_, but not the same. The administration mailbox is 9997. The manual can be found as a .pdf at

The 3.0 has more/better features than the 1.8, but whatever works is more important.
