Using Voicemail Pro and an IP 406 on 2.1(27), voicemail prompts (system messages) tend to be cut off for about half a second at the beginning. It's annoying, and occasionally confusing. Instead of "enter greeting number" it says "-ter greeting number," etc. Any ideas?

Are you using IP phones? If so, do you have "enable faststart" clicked on?

No, no IP phones. This happens on internal calls to *17 or outside calls to the DID number we have set up for voicemail retrieval.

Sounds like a server problem. Either it is being over utilized (under specd maybe) or the network is also over utilized (Try plugging the vm server directly into the ipo lan ports or into the switch which the ipo is connected to)

maybe the antivirus software ?

Also make sure that all power saving options of the VM server are disabled, especialy Hard disk spin down.

Is your vmpro plugged into the IPO directly or through a 3rd party switch? Make sure the network card in pc is set to the correct speed depending on what it is plugged into. Example: 100/full duplex or 100/half duplex.... If its not set correctly you will experience collisions which will make the greeting sound choppy and break up.

I'll try moving that around this evening when the voicemail system isn't in use. Right now both the IP Office and Voicemail Pro server are plugged into a Cisco Catalyst 2950 switch.
