We have an issue on 2 extensions that every now and then
when a OUTSIDE caller dials from the Auto Attendant (2??)
in this case they dial 226 or 235 .....they get the setup prompt rather then the person's greeting.
I have been to the site a couple of times but could not reproduce ....does not happen I'm told from internal calls to the USER 226 or 235.

Double check that there is no space at the end of the user name - highlight it to be sure, or hit your right arrow when the cursor is at the end of the name and see if it moves the cursor.

Failing that, get the user to clear out their messages and delete their folder on the VMS PC, in the accounts folder. Then get the user to redo their greeting etc. and retest.

Spaces are supported for user names according to the documentation/help files? Just funny characters are not. Or is that an undocumented thing from Avaya?

spaces at the END of the username are one of the biggest problems in this area. What ends up happening is the user form in the IPO retains the space, but the users folder in the accounts folder on the VMS server does not - windows drops this space. Thus a mismatch, thus all kinds of problems. Trust me - NO spaces at the end of usernames.

Spaces at the end of names can also be a pig to spot!

Either highlight the name field to see the space or look at call status carefully.

The 1st time we had a problem like this it took 30 minutes of head scratching, rebooting & general fiddling before it was spoted

Thanks I will look for that just in case ....I did that by accident when doing my first install ....but will double check to make sure .....
