Hello

I've got a IPO 8.1(95) with Voicemail Pro.

I'm having a problem with an auto attendant I created. There is an Option 7 and extensions are three digits starting with a 7 (7??). When attempting to dial an extension calls are going to Option 7. If I disable Option 7 then dialing an extension works fine. How can I force the system to wait a moment in case there are additional digits? I tried using the Timeout setting but it didn't work and I'm thinking that more for when nothings is pressed.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

You should not have Option 7 in the IVR if your extensions start with that.

If you insist you could have just have option $ in the menu and the use Variable Routing on $KEY to route the call.
Then you should be able to see the difference between 7 and 7??.

I can think of a few ways to solve this:

- Add #7?? to the menu (and a prompt saying "If you know the extn number, dial # followed by the 3 digits"), then strip off the # with a Generic free format: STRING:$CP0=right($KEY,3), and use $CP0 for transfer value.

or

- Connect 7 to a new Menu, add a ?? to it + a timeout going to your destination for single 7 entry. In the transfer box, put 7$KEY in Destination
(this works on R8.1.85, while .95 has too many bugs, I've stopped using that release)

Kind regards

Gunnar

just get rid of option 7 and stay with 7?? for your extension dialing, use another selector code if not used.

I appreciate all the ideas folks. In regards to running 8.1(95)...I've noticed its quite buggy and had been considering a rollback which I think I've decided to do now. I'm disappointed that the system can't simply be set to wait a few moment in case there are additional digits which is something that's available on other phone systems. I ended up enabling the '#' touch tone and sending that to an new menu that includes just the '7??' option.
