Anyone got any ideas why our Avaya IPO500 5.0(8) with voicemail pro goes through to a hunt group mailbox and after about 9-10 seconds cuts the call off saying "thankyou for leaving a message mailbox has now stopped recording".

Maximum message length is set to 3600.

Do you have a callflow configured in that groups Leave start point in VM Pro?

The process of leaving a message works fine, and there are 10 seconds worth of message being left, but then the IPO cuts the call off and plays the message I mentioned above....

But to answer your question, no.

OK after a few tests I can see that voicemail pro cuts calls off if the caller says nothing for 9-10 seconds.

I didnt know this happens.

Anyone know how to stop this happening?

Thats is some period of silence, why are they doing it is the other question :)

They are vunverable people.

So I need to get it resolved.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Avaya\Media Services\Directories there is a key called "ConversationSilenceLimit" mine is set to 0 , and I'm not even sure that's the right thing but it could be worth checking :)

Great answer.

It doesnt seem to change anything but must be getting warmer.

Create a Registry key called 'SilenceLimit' and give it a value say '30000' for 30 Secs.

Is that tried and tested TD?.... Man you are good at this VM stuff :)

Are you usinga voice question?

if so, check that the response length is longer than 10s

Take Care

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Thanks TD. Is that registry entry in the location HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Avaya\Media Services\Directories ? As AMR mentioned?
