Voicemail Pro intermittently stops working 2

I have a problem with a Voicemail Pro server. After about three or four hours, it will stop working in any capacity. No one can call in to retrieve voicemail messages, and no one can leave any either. If I log onto the server (running Windows 2000 Server) both VMPro services show that they're started. If I stop both of them, then restart them, Voicemail will start working again for another few hours.

Right now I have 6 sites using the server. 5 of them are running 2.1(27), but 1 is running 3.0(40) (IIRC) because it has newer phones. The 3.0 IP Office was just put in a couple of days before this problem started happening -- although it did work reliably for a full couple of days while it was installed.

I tried uninstalling Voicemail Pro and installing the newest 3.0 version and the problem has continued in the same form. My next step is probably to upgrade all the 2.1(27) units to 3.0, but this is kind of a pain in the ass and since it changes the behavior of the LEDs I'd rather not force more training and help desk volume on myself if there's another way to fix this.

Any ideas? Thanks.

I know this sounds silly, but have you checked that your licenses are valid? Where is the FK server running, and are there any connectivity issues between it and the VM server, assuming they are not on the same box? I had that same issue after an upgrade from VM 2.1 to 3.0, and realized that my licenses weren't valid. VM will work for several hours without recognizing licenses, and then will stop.

Just something to check. If I think of anything else, I'll pass it on.

JMONT4455 You dont sound silly you sound absolutely correct. If you ever mess with the IP address of the voicemail server or the license server make sure you reboot your voicemail and or license server. I've seen a problem where the license server gets confused and shows all the licenses invalid. Yuu can also simply just restart the license server to rectify this issue as well.

1. Check to see if licenses are VALID in Manager
2. Restart the license server service
3. Restart the VM Pro Server service

Looks like you guys were right on the money. The licenses do show up as Invalid in Manager. I hadn't changed anything before the problem started occuring though -- I wonder why this happened.

We had the same problem and for whatever reason the licenses were comming up invalid.

All we did was double click each license (you don't have to re-enter them) save the config and reboot your IPO.

That's it.....

Great info guys.....:)

FYI programming a V2.1 switch with a V2.0 manager WILL invalidate the licences
