Voicemail on a Yealink Sip Set

Is it possible to have an indicator on a Yealink T46g phone to show voicemail left for a different extension ?

yes it is possible.
you need root access to add a script and change ownership to asterisk.
edit voicemail.conf to point externnotify to the downloaded script
edit extensions_custom.conf to create the hint for the extension
program a dss key as TYPE BLF Value *98extension
the programed key will be green = no messages red = messages
press the button to call vm and login with the extensions password

The question was is it possible yes it is,
but E-Metrotel does not grant root access
 
Do a software update and try this again!!! :)

set up a blf key on your yealink phone and in the value field put *98xxxx where xxxx is the extension of the mailbox

 
I have tested this on the Yealink T48G after updating the UCx. The display of the T48G shows the BLF indicator as "Talking" if programmed as suggested by emtsupport. I suggest programming the label of the button as "*98xxx" so the user will knwo when they see the "Talking" indicator, there is a voice mail message in the mailbox.
