One of my clients is using an IPO 500V2 8.1(67). They have bunch of analog DIDs with VoiceMail from the provider.
I was wondering if there is any way to have the VoiceMail light turn on whenever there's a Stutter Dial Tone on the line.
Embedded VoiceMail is turned off. We're not using on site VoiceMail here.
Would it be possible to have the "Message" button do something else (short code or dial *98)?
Thank you

No, and that's a poor setup anyway, far better to use the systems VM, more features and integration :)

Client doesn't want to deal with 2 voicemails. He's stuck on a contract (PRI or SIP is not an option for now). He can't afford assigning 2 rollovers on each DID. He still want the ability to transfer calls and call park.
I think Nortel had that option...(CICS MICS BCM50)
Thank You [bigsmile]

So where is the problem? Ask the provider to turn off their VM, the systems VM is already included. Don't know what you mean when you talk about 2 rollovers????

The lines could get busy and he cant afford loosing calls. So if hes on the phone and another call comes in,it will ring busy since he doesn't have roll over and using the IPO voicemail.

You're correct, the BCM/MICS/CICS could detect CO Vmail. However, the IPO does not and in fact, I'm pretty sure CO Vmail messes up the V2 combo cards.

Isn't ISDN an option? If he gets more calls than lines he needs more lines/channels really, using VM as a solution for this isn't the best way to do things IMO :)

amriddle01,i agree with you and i would not use that solution for my clients but sometime you have to deal and work with what you have. In this case i have no choice but to use analog and one line per DID.

But you also have no choice now he has an IPO, as it can't do what he wants, so it's decision time :)
