My customer reported she hadn't received any voicemail messages in a hunt group mailbox for a month. I looked in System Status/Voicemail and saw that the mailbox had 0 messages. So I left a message in the mailbox and the number of new messages immediately changed from 0 to 107. I added the HGeneralMailbox source number to her phone and the messages were all there and accessible. When I dialed *17 to get messages they were all available as well. They are using Server Edition 9.1 Service Pack 1 and Voicemail Pro.
